Typical medical interventions for pain are leaving people hopelessly frustrated and overwhelmed. Conflicting recommendations and misinformation about pain often result in poor treatment decisions that are expensive, do not improve pain, and cause suffering unnecessarily.
A holistic approach built on science, the mind-body connection, and social well-being can help you calm and over-sensitive nervous system, create pain-free neural pathways, and heal your chronic pain.
In order to better help people struggling with these issues, we developed the Overcome Chronic Pain With Neuroscience and Yoga course to help patients understand how pain truly works in the body, undo misinformation that exists about chronic pain, and heal naturally.
Chronic pain triggers changes in brain structure that are linked to depression, anxiety, and impaired cognitive function. Vast volumes of research show that practicing yoga has the opposite effect on the brain and can relieve chronic pain.
Catherine Bushnell, PhD, is scientific director of the National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) at the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH). Catherine and her team research non-pharmacological treatments for pain including yoga and how it affects the brain’s role in perceiving, modifying, and managing pain. In a press release, Bushnell summed up the findings of her research by saying, “Practicing yoga has the opposite effect on the brain as does chronic pain.” Doing yoga regularly can reverse the damaging effect of chronic pain in your brain.
According to Harvard Health Publishing of the Harvard School of Medicine, Yoga can help people with arthritis, fibromyalgia, migraine, low back pain, and many other types of chronic pain conditions. A study published in Annals of Internal Medicine found that among 313 people with chronic low back pain, a weekly yoga class increased mobility more than standard medical care for the condition. Another study published at nearly the same time found that yoga was comparable to standard exercise therapy in relieving chronic low back pain.
Practicing yoga also improved mood and psychosocial well-being.
Practicing yoga properly requires the guidance of a qualified teacher. This class does not ask students to rush movements or push limits. We take things slow and gradually allow your body to adjust to new positions and stresses. There are many asanas, or postures and all of them can be modified to fit different body types. Classes are pre-recorded so you can take as long as you need to learn the movements and no previous yoga experience is needed.
This course will show you simple, effective, and proven strategies to unlock your own natural ‘medicine cabinet’ so you can overcome chronic pain and live your healthiest life… even if you’re not a gym fan, yoga lover, or otherwise exercise buff.

Knowledge is power and education is therapy. Understanding why things hurt can actually help people overcome their pain. You will learn about evidence-based strategies and gain tools and insights to help you rewire your brain and pain-sensing system so you can heal yourself naturally.
The Overcome Chronic Pain With Neuroscience & Yoga class introduces science-based methods for understanding and healing an overactive pain sensing system.
This course seamlessly integrates cutting edge science with the breadth of yogic body-mind principles for those who appreciate the rigor of scientific evidence as well as those more attuned to the broader, holistic approach.
Using this method, you will learn and practice the essential skills needed to effectively boost your energy levels, improve your mobility, ease anxiety, frustration, and sadness about your pain, feel more resilient so you are better able to handle all of life’s challenges and can live your healthiest life.
All pain is real and pain is also a normal, human experience. BUT every pain experience is personal and complex. In modern healthcare, often the individual’s experience of pain is overlooked. Healthcare providers focus on ‘fixing’ the passive patient.
In this course, we will explore, work with, learn from, and validate your own lived pain experience. This class will follow a partnership-based biopsychosocial-spiritual model with YOU as an active and empowered participant at the center of your healing journey.
